Spiritual Capital Cardiff Conference

The Spiritual Capital Cardiff Conference was hailed as a great success by both faith leaders and politicians who came together in the Future Inn Cardiff.
This was an important conference for Cardiff that underlined the contribution that faith communities are making to the city. It is essential that public organisations engage in a constructive dialogue with faith communities reflecting their pivotal role in promoting community cohesion.
Councillor Judith Woodman, Deputy Leader, Cardiff Council
The conference was designed to be as interactive and participatory as possible. Delegates were issued with the challenge to collectively identify how they can work together to ensure Cardiff becomes a truly world class city.
The conference also saw the launch a unique report (PDF 3.3MB) demonstrating the vast contribution that faith group make to the city of Cardiff.
I hope this report will open all our eyes to the immense amount of activities and services faith groups provide in the capital, both individually and in partnership. I hope it will lead to proper recognition of their work and inspire the development of a more formal role to shape a shared vision of Cardiff’s future.
Dr Barry Morgan Archbishop of Wales
With delegates drawn from Cardiff’s major faith groups the conference is expected to make a lasting impact on how faith communities and the City interact with each other.
