spiritual capital Cardiff

Welcome to the Spiritual Capital Cardiff Website

Often Cardiff is thought of a sporting, retail or administration centre for business and the public sector. The Spiritual Capital Project demonstrates it is so much more than this. Faith groups offer a great deal to civic renewal through human and social capital often overlooked by planners and developers. Spiritual Capital argues that it is the people that make a City.

The Spiritual Capital Cardiff research project looked at the impact that faith and cultural organisations have on the city of Cardiff. This website gives an overview of the research, the report and the conference. You can also find contact information for faith groups in Cardiff using the directory.

This valuable report outlines just how much faith communities contribute to the city’s well-being at all different levels – from the spiritual to the social to the practical. It is a contribution given freely and with good will but is also one which Cardiff cannot afford to sideline or take for granted.
Dr Barry Morgan, Archbishop of Wales

Spiritual Capital Cardiff Website project was set up by the Cardiff City Centre Churches Together supported by the City Parish Church of St John the Baptist.

It was funded by the Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund of the Community Development Foundation, and it employed the services of Cardiff University's Regeneration Institute, and the 'Ask Cardiff' market survey teams.
